BRANSON, Mo. — Ballparks of America opened its doors to the National Youth Baseball Championships and over 30 teams this past weekend for a qualifier event.

The winner from each of the four age divisions that participated earned a paid bid to the NYBC Championship event in New York in July. The winning teams included:

10U Division: Springfield Mavericks

11U Division: St. Louis Dynamite Black

12U Division: St. Louis Force

13U Division: Jays Baseball

Mother Nature was a constant presence during the event. Storms rolled through the Branson area on Friday while temperatures dipped into the 30s during the finale on Sunday. Luckily, our guests and competitors were troopers.

Our brand new indoor 14,000 square foot hitting facility also debuted over the weekend. Teams not only used it to practice but as a reprieve from the cold. The facility offers 10 hitting lanes and four pitching lanes as well as an area for soft-toss and tee work.

Gotta give an A for effort even though he was eventually called out for going headfirst. ? #greatslide #NYBC2018 #travelball

SHALLOWATER, Texas — It was common for Duncan Hudson to get a call from John Campbell well past midnight. They would talk about whatever the night called for, which most often involved baseball.
